1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Remote TV, you accept these Terms in full and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Pro App LLC. If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. You must be of the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the app. If you do not accept these Terms, you may not use the app.
2. Licence to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to download and use Remote TV on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, and as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
- copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the app, except as expressly permitted by law;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or otherwise commercially exploit the app or any part of it;
- remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks in the app;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with the in-app purchase mechanism, the free usage allowances, or any feature that limits access to Pro functionality;
- use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms or the rights of others.
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by us and our licensors.
3. Remote TV Pro
Remote TV is free to download. Finding and pairing with your TVs is free, and the free version includes a limited number of remote commands (opening a TV app from Remote TV counts as one) and a limited number of photos you can cast each day, so you can check that the app works with your TV. Remote TV Pro is an optional upgrade that unlocks unlimited remote control, including opening TV apps; casting photos and videos without limits; and AirPlay screen mirroring. We may offer free previews of some Pro features, and we may change the free allowances and the features included in Pro from time to time.
Pro is offered as auto-renewable subscriptions (for example, weekly and yearly plans) and as a one-time Lifetime purchase. The plans shown can vary. All purchases are made through your Apple Account and processed by Apple via the App Store. We never receive or store your card or payment details.
Auto-renewable subscription terms
- Remote TV Pro subscriptions are auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock Pro features for the length of the plan you choose.
- Where a free trial is offered on a plan, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at that plan’s price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of your plan.
- Prices and available plans are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country and currency.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we cannot issue App Store refunds.
- The Lifetime option is a one-time, non-recurring purchase: it does not renew, there is nothing to cancel, and you can restore it on devices signed in with the same Apple Account.
You can restore a previous purchase using Restore on the Pro screen in the app, as long as you are signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Changes to the price of an existing subscription follow Apple’s rules and will not take effect without the notice, and where required the consent, those rules call for.
Because purchases are processed by Apple, they are also subject to Apple’s terms. See Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
4. TV Compatibility
Remote TV works with compatible smart TVs and streaming devices — including Samsung, LG, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV, Apple TV, Vizio, VIDAA, Philips and Xumo TV models — that are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your device. To find, control, and cast to TVs, the app needs the iOS Local Network permission.
- Features vary by TV. What you can do depends on your TV’s brand, model, software version, region, and settings. For example, typing text, number keys, channel keys, opening apps, turning the TV on over the network, and casting photos or videos are not available on every TV.
- Pairing. Some TVs ask you to approve the connection or enter a code shown on the TV. Your TV may also need network control or remote access features turned on in its settings.
- Changes by TV makers. TV makers and platform providers can change, restrict, or turn off the interfaces that Remote TV uses, for example through a software update. We will try to keep the app working, but we cannot guarantee that it will work with any particular TV, now or in the future.
- Xumo TVs. Some Xumo TV models can only be controlled through an online service operated for the Xumo platform. Controlling those TVs requires an internet connection and depends on that service being available, which is outside our control.
- Not a replacement for your TV remote. Remote TV does not use infrared. Keep your TV’s own remote for setup, network problems, and anything the app does not support.
Remote TV is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Samsung, LG, Roku, Amazon, Google, Apple, Vizio, Hisense, Philips, Xumo, Comcast, or any other TV maker or platform provider.
5. Casting & Screen Mirroring
Casting photos and videos. Remote TV can show photos and videos you choose on a compatible TV on the same network, using Google Cast, DLNA, or AirPlay, depending on your TV. What a TV can play depends on its brand, model, and settings: some TVs play only videos, some ask you to allow casting on the TV first, and some formats or protected content may not play. To make your media play on your TV, the app may convert it on your device, which can change its size or quality. Your device has to stay on the same Wi‑Fi network as the TV, and except with AirPlay, playback pauses when you leave the app. With Google Cast, your TV opens a media player provided by Google, which may need an internet connection and is subject to Google’s terms.
Remote TV does not store or back up your photos and videos — casting sends copies from your device to your TV — so keep your own copies of anything you care about.
Screen mirroring uses AirPlay, a technology provided by Apple as part of iOS and iPadOS, and requires an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible TV on the same network. Picture quality, delay, and reliability depend on your device, your TV, and your network. Some apps and content, including protected video, may not allow mirroring.
You are responsible for what you display on a TV. Only cast or mirror content you have the right to display, and do not use the app to show content publicly, or in any way that infringes the rights of others.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Remote TV responsibly and lawfully. You must not use the app to:
- control, pair with, or wake any TV or device that you do not own or do not have permission to control;
- interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any network, device, or service, including our servers and the services of TV makers;
- infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
- cast, display, or distribute illegal, obscene, defamatory, or infringing content;
- introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code;
- do anything that violates these Terms or applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property & Trademarks
The app, including its software, user interface, design, graphics, and text, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features without our prior written permission.
TV brands, app names, and logos shown in Remote TV, such as the names of TV makers and streaming services, belong to their respective owners. They are used only to identify compatible devices and apps, and their use does not imply any affiliation or endorsement. Apple, AirPlay, Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Google Cast is a trademark of Google LLC.
8. Third-Party Services
Remote TV relies on services provided by others: Apple for purchases, subscriptions, attribution, and AirPlay; Google Firebase for analytics, diagnostics, remote configuration, and our purchase and attribution records; Google for the media player your TV opens when you cast with Google Cast; your TV’s maker or platform provider for the control and casting interfaces your TV offers; and, for some Xumo TVs, an online control service operated for the Xumo platform. How we use these services is described in our Privacy Policy.
These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. We are not responsible for their availability, content, accuracy, or practices, and your dealings with them are solely between you and them. You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms when you use the app, such as the terms of your internet or wireless data service.
9. App Store Terms
If you downloaded Remote TV from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and Pro App LLC only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Pro App LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. These Terms do not provide for usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Scope of licence. The licence granted to you is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where available.
- Maintenance and support. Pro App LLC is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as described in these Terms or as required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- Warranty. Pro App LLC is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app, if any, to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are the sole responsibility of Pro App LLC.
- Product claims. Pro App LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Pro App LLC, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer contact. Questions, complaints, or claims about the app can be sent to Pro App LLC at [email protected].
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that it will find, connect to, or control any particular TV; that a command will reach your TV; or that casting or screen mirroring will be available, will play any particular photo or video, or will perform at any particular quality.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Pro App LLC, its affiliates, officers, employees, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any effect on your TV, other devices, or network.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve (12) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pro App LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use or misuse of the app, the content you cast or display with it, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.
13. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. When these Terms end, the licence in Section 2 ends immediately and you must stop using and delete the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — continue to apply. Termination does not affect subscriptions managed by Apple, which you can cancel in Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the app, our practices, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the app after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to them, stop using the app.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be submitted to the competent courts of Lisbon, Portugal. This choice of law and forum does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
